E.g. If an in-state student enrolls for 9 hours in the fall 2011 semester and receives a 0.25FTE research assistantship:

1. Tuition charged to account - $4,300, assistantship grant credited to account - $2,150. Balance paid by student - $2,150.
2. Student withdraws week 7 of the semester.
3. Tuition charge reduced to 50% of original cost - $2,150.
4. Assistantship grant reduced to 50% of original tuition - $1,075.
5. Original payment - $2,150 therefore net cost to student is $1,075.
