11.1 GRADUATE STUDY IN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Graduate work in the College of Engineering is administered jointly by the Graduate School, the College of Engineering, and various administrative subdivisions of the College of Engineering.
The Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (the national accrediting agency for engineering curricula) has examined and accredited all of the professional engineering undergraduate curricula. The undergraduate program in computer science is accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Commission of the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board, a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.



Graduate degrees.
The College of Engineering offers the following graduate degrees:

Master of Science in aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, engineering (environmental engineering), engineering science and mechanics, mechanical engineering, and metallurgical engineering

Doctor of Philosophy in the fields of aerospace engineering and mechanics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and materials/metallurgical engineering (the PhD in materials/metallurgical engineering is offered jointly with The University of Alabama at Birmingham)



Joint interdisciplinary PhD program in materials science.
A PhD degree in the field of materials science is also offered, in collaboration with The University of Alabama at Birmingham and The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
